A deformation of up to 1 mm has been observed on the cold bore in the layer jump area following the collaring process of long and short dipoles. Four different test set-up have been implemented on short coil sections to understand and solve this problem

Four cold bore pieces have been used in these tests. Their main characteristics are shown on table 1.
