Mandate

  • CERN reception and preliminary acceptance of dipole cold masses.

  • Coordination of cryodipoles from reception at CERN to delivery to the LHC tunnel.

  • Procurement and testing of polyimide films for cables and ground insulations of the LHC superconducting magnets.

  • Procurement and testing of polyimide and pre-preg tapes for insulation of bus bars and cold bore for the LHC superconducting magnets.

  • Wrapping of the cold bore tube insulations for the LHC superconducting magnets.

  • Management of the CERN superconducting magnet winding and assembly workshop.

  • Design and construction, in collaboration with other teams of the division, of the Undulators, for the LHC beam diagnostic.
